1) Reaching out in The Spirit Of Our Ancestors...
It is upon The Spiritual Journey To KIVA, that I will find
RECOVERY of the body, mind, spirit, heart and soul –
- empoweRment to begin the journey anew
- indepEndence from the captivity of self-destruction
- choiCe to become cleansed and made whole
> hOpe which gives assurance, based upon faith
- Vision to look beyond the moment and into one’s inner-self
- hEaling which restores the body, mind, spirit, heart and soul
- couRage to make amends and to enjoy a rebirth of personal freedom
- familY bonds which are renewed and strengthened through unconditional love
As I travel, I Discover Trail Markers and Treasures along the way –
- Hope Through Acceptance Of Spiritual Values
- Reflection upon that which inspires to reach inward and that which motivates to reach outward.
It is from the Discovery of these Trail Markers and Treasures that
I am renewed and prepared for The Spiritual Journey That Lies Ahead –
- Acquiring A Positive Self Image
These Pathways and Treasures await me, much like the trees that lie before –
- roots reaching ever deep beneath the surface, outward toward one another
- branches reaching ever upward toward The Sun
Both root and branch are like my spirit, both are like my destination –
- extending onward and without end
- enduring each and every climb
- progressing through each and every season
- firmly rooted, ever reaching outward and upward toward
My GREAT FATHER
My Destination (Spiritual Based Outcomes)
- acceptance of responsibility as well as forgiveness of self achieving inner peace and reassurance in the present moment, that all may be well
- rising from the time and place of pain, uncertainty and despair,
toward the moment and location of calm, reassurance and perseverance
-relief from the stress of uncertainty and adversity; tranquility from the harmony of union with my surroundings and with The One who has led me here

The purpose of this section is not to promote a debate between different cultures or religious beliefs. Rather, if we can better understand and respect one another and walk together in peace and harmony, this is a thing of beauty.
Much can be learned from the 1st Nation culture, regarding
our purpose and potential as Fellow Travelers upon a Spiritual Journey.
We may learn from the words of The Cherokee,
Let us greet the dawn of a new day when all can live as one with nature and peace reigns everywhere.
We may learn from the
Hopi Prayer For Peace,
We ask you to be seen in an image of love and peace. Let us be seen in beauty, the colors of the rainbows. We respect our mother, the planet & our corn fields, with our loving care, from Her breast we receive our nourishment.
Additionally, it was stated by
Chief Dan George, of the
Tsleil-Waututh, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Salish),
There is a longing among all people and creatures to have a sense of purpose and worth. To satisfy that common longing in all of us we must respect each other. In the olden time, man and creature walked as friends who carried the beauty of the land in their hearts. Now each one of us is needed to make sure the salmon can find a place to spawn and the bear cub a tree to climb. There is little time left and much effort needed. – Chief Dan George
It was also stated by Catholic
Father Pierre Teilhard de Chardin,
“We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.”
We do walk upon a shared path. Our cultures, beliefs and experiences may bring us together in a realization that we are Fellow Travelers on a Spiritual Journey.
Included in this section then, are words of teachings, songs, hymns of importance and significance to those throughout the Community of Faith. Much of this material was gathered during my career as a Chaplain. I offer it now as a resource to the Community of Spiritual and Clinical Care Providers and to those who are receiving treatment/care for Healing and Recovery.
This entire website includes Royalty Free Illustrations to provide an understanding of the topics of discussion.
Shown in this section, are various tree photographs, which suggest The Tree Of Life as a symbol that extends across many cultures.
An interpretation of The Tree of Life, according to the 1st Nation is provided in The Preface to Section 10, The Spiritual Journey.
May it be said for now, that The Tree of Life offers an abundance of Desirable Fruit that extends across all cultures and systems of religious belief practices of theology. We may become nourished by the Fruit from The Tree of Life if we simply accept the invitation to come and partake with one another.
May we always share from the richness of our heritage, not to claim that which separates us, but to be reminded of what may unite us.
That is the true essence of Spirituality and KIVA (Keeping Individual Value Alive).

1. We are one in the Spirit,
we are one in the Lord,
we are one in the Spirit,
we are one in the Lord,
and we pray that all unity
will one day be restored
Refrain:
and they'll know we are Christians
by our love, by our love,
and they'll know we are Christians
by our love.
2. We will walk with each other,
we will walk hand in hand,
we will walk with each other,
we will walk hand in hand,
and together we'll spread the news
that God is in our land.
(Refrain)
3. We will work with each other,
we will work side by side,
we will work with each other,
we will work side by side,
and we'll guard each one's dignity
and save each one's pride.
(Refrain)
4. All praise to the Father,
from whom all things come,
and all praise to Christ Jesus,
who is God's only Son,
and all praise to the Spirit,
who makes us one,
(Refrain)
